About Us...
The Dream in Green Foundation, in cooperation with Green Partners, LLC, is proud to inroduce version 2.0 of the GreenometerSM Certification System and Dashboard.
During the 2006-2007 Green Schools Challenge, the GreenometerSM Dashboard was used to measure a participating school's progress toward reducing its carbon footprint. The GreenometerSM Dashboard has been improved for the 2007-2008 Green Schools Challenge, which is currently in place at fifteen K-12 schools in Miami-Dade County.
The new and improved GreenometerSM Certification System and Dashboard enable K-12 students to:
a) understand the important linkages among kilowatt hours of electricity consumed and the corresponding impact on carbon dioxide emissions and energy expenditures; and
b) continue tracking progress toward reducing their schools’ carbon footprint from conservation measures like turning off lights and computers when not in use, and from activities that help offset carbon emissions, including recycling solid waste and tree planting.
On our homepage you will find the GreenometerSM Dashboard for each of the fifteen schools currently participating in the 2007-2008 Green Schools Challenge. These schools represent a community of over 18,000 students, teachers, administrators and maintenance personnel, who are working together to lower their electricity consumption and carbon footprint.
